We are a non-profit organization and survive on adoption fees and donations. We have an adoption fee of $160 w/application plus $ 100.00 at time of delivery. This includes spaying or neutering, teeth cleaning, all shots, heartworm testing, micro chip, blood work, and transportation. You will also be given an adoption kit containing a care booklet, food and a special collar and leash designed for a greyhound. You will need to purchase a soft dog bed, bowls and a coat for your greyhound. You may acquire these items from any pet store or from NGAP (all proceeds from NGAP sales go directly to greyhound rescue.) Items purchased from NGAP are cheaper and are of better quality than those found in pet stores.

You will need to fill out an application. As part of the application approval process, a home visit will be scheduled in order to assess any areas of your home that may present possible dangers to the greyhound. After your application has been approved, you will be notified of the approximate date your dog will arrive. We will try to notify you a week in advance, but sometimes due to the volunteers available to transport dogs, we may only be able to give you a few days notice. The time period is usually two to three weeks once your application has been approved. The time varies according to weather and if you require a cat safe greyhound. Transporting your dog may be delayed due to weather . Extreme heat prevents safe transit.

Once the dog is in your home, you can rely on support forever, if you need it. We are available to respond to adopters needs almost 24 hours a day. Everyday.

Sending the adoption fee along with your application is an indication to us of your commitment to adopt a greyhound. The adoption fee can be paid one of two ways: you may send a check or credit card information for the full amount of $260.00, or you may send a check or credit card deposit for $160.00, with the remaining $100.00 balance to be paid at the time you pick-up your new pet.

The $260.00 Adoption Fee covers the following:

• Spaying / Neutering
• Vaccinations (DHLPP / Corona, Bordetella, Lyme,   Rabies)
• Microchip
• Heartworm Test
• Thyroid Test
• Bloodwork
• Dental Cleaning

We cannot start the adoption process until our adoption fee is received. Any application received without the fee will be placed on hold until the adoption fee is paid. If for any reason your application is rejected, or we cannot supply you with a greyhound, your monies will be returned.
